Yup, we know it’s obvious but whether it’s Helen at work, Avi at the barbers, or Nathan at the pub, letting people know you’re walking and would like some company is often enough to get people involved.
SHARE YOUR STORY
If you feel comfortable, share the reason you’re walking. Opening up about suicide is the whole reason we’re taking to the streets. Share your Lost Hours blog on social media and in your Whatsapp groups to show people why the walk is important to you.
INVOLVE YOUR COMMUNITY
If you’re happy to include people you haven’t met before, open up your team to the local community. Being bereaved by suicide can feel isolating and lonely, so reaching out to other people in the community can help you feel less alone.
WALKING IN MEMORY
If you’re waking in memory of someone, let their friends and family know. They might want to join you in walking against suicide and remembering their loved one.
