I'm fundraising for CALM
I’m walking against suicide.
This October I'm taking on the Lost Hours Walk to deal with grief differently and defiantly, and to remember our sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers, partners and friends lost to suicide.
On average, 125 people take their own lives every week in the UK.
75% of people who take their own lives are not known to mental health services or have not been in touch with mental health services within the last year.
135 people are directly affected by every suicide.
We’re coming together across the country to send a message that that’s not ok. We’re taking to the streets, parks, pavements, public footpaths and promenades to walk against struggling in silence, against being alone, against living miserably.
Anyone can hit crisis point. CALM’s free, anonymous and confidential helpline and webchat are there for anyone who needs support. They’re open from 5pm-midnight every day. Just £8 is enough to fund a professionally-trained helpline worker to answer a call that could save a life. Your support will help fund CALM’s life-saving services when they’re needed most.

My walk Tuesday 20th OctoberMonday 7th Sep Suicide is something very close to my heart. I have felt suicidal in the past, which hurts my heart every time I admit that, but we need to be more open about our struggles, talk about it and help people find their way out of the darkness. There’s no shame in it, and your story can light the way for others. On Tuesday 20th October I will walk 13 miles to show my support for the fight against suicide. Share
