I'm fundraising for CALM
I’m walking against suicide.
This October I'm taking on the Lost Hours Walk to deal with grief differently and defiantly, and to remember our sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers, partners and friends lost to suicide.
Here’s why:
On average, 125 people take their own lives every week in the UK.
75% of people who take their own lives are not known to mental health services or have not been in touch with mental health services within the last year.
135 people are directly affected by every suicide.
We’re coming together across the country to send a message that that’s not ok. We’re taking to the streets, parks, pavements, public footpaths and promenades to walk against struggling in silence, against being alone, against living miserably.
Anyone can hit crisis point. CALM’s free, anonymous and confidential helpline and webchat are there for anyone who needs support. They’re open from 5pm-midnight every day. Just £8 is enough to fund a professionally-trained helpline worker to answer a call that could save a life. Your support will help fund CALM’s life-saving services when they’re needed most.

Saturday 26th Sep We are now 1 month away from the big day so I thought I'd post a little update now it's all starting to feel real, we have settled on the 13miles walk and chosen our route. We've done 0 training so far 🙈 but I'm going to start walking to & from work to prepare and now we have settled on a route we are going to do a few practice runs, which is gonna be fun 😂 proud to say some of my wonderful family & friends have already donated and raised £31 towards our goal 💚 £8 can answer one potentially life-saving phone call to the CALM helpline so that's 4 phone calls 😊💚 I've got my fundraising pack on its way to me too so it'll help get the word out more, with 4 week's to go im hoping to hit my goal 😊 Share

Sunday 13th Sep So I really wanted to do the 26 mile walk but considering Boris and his confusing restrictions we have decided to stay local, looked around and formby is 13 miles from us so weve chosen to walk there or in that general area.
