I'm fundraising for CALM
I’m walking against suicide.
My absolutely beautiful, warm, incredibly kind, bubbly and wonderfully weird brother took his life in January 2020. He wore his heart on his sleeve and he would do anything for anyone. I will miss him forever, would give anything to have him back and our hearts are forever broken. He was my friend, my brother, my father figure, an incredible Father to my beautiful nieces and a loving Husband to my gorgeous sister in law. Please sponsor us all on our walk to fundraise for CALM.
This October I'm taking on the Lost Hours Walk to deal with grief differently and defiantly, and to remember our sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers, partners and friends lost to suicide.
On average, 125 people take their own lives every week in the UK.
75% of people who take their own lives are not known to mental health services or have not been in touch with mental health services within the last year.
135 people are directly affected by every suicide.
We’re coming together across the country to send a message that that’s not ok. We’re taking to the streets, parks, pavements, public footpaths and promenades to walk against struggling in silence, against being alone, against living miserably.
Anyone can hit crisis point. CALM’s free, anonymous and confidential helpline and webchat are there for anyone who needs support. They’re open from 5pm-midnight every day. Just £8 is enough to fund a professionally-trained helpline worker to answer a call that could save a life. Your support will help fund CALM’s life-saving services when they’re needed most.
