I'm fundraising for CALM
I’m walking against suicide with the Students for Global Health and Headucate UEA team.
This is our way of remembering those we have lost to suicide, help against the struggle with our own mental wellbeing and to end the silence around suicide in the UK.
We are walking a total of 125km in memoriam of the 125 people who die by suicide each week in the UK.
We'd really appreciate any donations you feel able to give!
On average, 125 people take their own lives every week in the UK.
75% of people who take their own lives are not known to mental health services or have not been in touch with mental health services within the last year.
135 people are directly affected by every suicide.
We’re coming together across the country to send a message that that’s not ok. We’re taking to the streets, parks, pavements, public footpaths and promenades to walk against struggling in silence, against being alone, against living miserably.
Anyone can hit crisis point. CALM’s free, anonymous and confidential helpline and webchat are there for anyone who needs support. They’re open from 5pm-midnight every day. Just £8 is enough to fund a professionally-trained helpline worker to answer a call that could save a life. Your support will help fund CALM’s life-saving services when they’re needed most.
