Angela Whelan

I'm fundraising for CALM in memory of Alan Cheverton.

I’m walking against suicide.

This October I'm taking on the Lost Hours Walk to deal with grief differently and defiantly, and to remember our sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers, partners and friends lost to suicide.

Here’s why:

On average, 125 people take their own lives every week in the UK.

75% of people who take their own lives are not known to mental health services or have not been in touch with mental health services within the last year.

135 people are directly affected by every suicide.

We’re coming together across the country to send a message that that’s not ok. We’re taking to the streets, parks, pavements, public footpaths and promenades to walk against struggling in silence, against being alone, against living miserably.

Anyone can hit crisis point. CALM’s free, anonymous and confidential helpline and webchat are there for anyone who needs support. They’re open from 5pm-midnight every day. Just £8 is enough to fund a professionally-trained helpline worker to answer a call that could save a life. Your support will help fund CALM’s life-saving services when they’re needed most.

My Updates

Alan Cheverton

Tuesday 8th Sep
Walking in memory of my dear Al.
He is loved, missed and remembered every day.
He was the best father to our 3 children Riley, Mitchell and Stacey.
He was my biggest supporter and the man who I went to for everything. He was my best friend.
A massive part of me died too that day.
I love you forever my other half.

Thank you to my Sponsors

For my Dad who, despite his flaws, was a genuine family man who always put us first. He will be missed dearly every single day. I only hope he knew we loved him just as much as he loved us. AC. 270170-271219
