TAKING STEPS TO SAVE LIVES

The Lost Hours Walk is less about the miles you cover and more about coming together to make sure nobody has to suffer on their own. We need to smash the stigma around suicide and raise vital funds to continue our life-saving work, but we can’t do it without people like you.

Your walk raises awareness and helps us to be there for anyone who needs us. It’s a space to open up a conversation with your community and to remember those we’ve lost.

Whatever your reason for taking part in the Lost Hours Walk, you’re helping to start potentially life-saving conversations.

HOW LOST HOURS WALK SUPPORTS SERVICES

The Lost Hours Walk is CALM’s flagship annual event. Every October we come together as the clocks go back, and walk against suicide. The money you raise helps us to provide and improve our life-saving services for those who need them.

“If Alex could have rung CALM when he was struggling, he could have got the help he needed. If we can make that possible for someone else, that’s an amazing thing.”

Tracey, 2021 Lost Hours Walker

“Suicide to a lot of people is a permanent goodbye. So I hope to show that it doesn't have to be a permanent goodbye, because all these people we’ve lost still live with you.”

Hannah, 2021 Lost Hours Walker

“I don't think my son knew where to go. But if doing the walk means that somebody has access to help when they feel like there's no hope, that would make such a big difference to us.”

Tanju, Regular Lost Hours Walker

DO THE LOST HOURS WALK IN
MEMORY OF A LOVED ONE

The Lost Hours Walk is a chance to deal with grief differently and defiantly, but walking in memory of someone you’ve lost can be both a powerful and difficult journey.

You may find that when you fundraise in memory, it brings up unexpected emotions, or you may find it cathartic and empowering - perhaps even a bit of both.

Whatever you feel while fundraising in memory of someone special, we want you to feel supported and comfortable.

Take action in memory of your loved one and join us as we unite to smash the silence around suicide in the UK.

We can help you shout about your Lost Hours Walk

Let everyone know you and your team are smashing the silence around suicide by spreading the word about your walk. We’ve got everything from stuff to post on your socials, to postcards and posters - and you can download them all for free.
